Marriage Was Supposed to Feel Joyful
A little struggle is normal. Even to be expected.
But it shouldn’t feel like work every minute of every day.
The thrill you felt at the beginning has given way to conflict. To boredom. To drudgery… or worse.
Why is something that was once so rewarding now so hard?
Your Partner Changed. So Did You.
Anything worthwhile requires work.
And let’s be honest. Even though your partner has changed, so have you.
I can help you reconnect to the love you once had. Not to restore feelings from a bygone era, but to help you get to know (and admire) the partner sitting across from you now.
The present is where we start.
My Bet Is the Spark Is Still There
I have worked as a psychologist for over 40 years, and I keep up with the latest science alongside the newest techniques.
I’ve seen couples repair and recover from desperate situations. You’d be shocked at what’s possible with the right skills and the right attention.
Trained in Gottman Levels 1 and 2, I also completed their “Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work” training.
In this work, the goal isn’t your past. It’s a future you both look forward to living in.

Couples Therapy Helps You Co-Create What’s Next
Sometimes just getting it all out and beginning the process is a relief all by itself.
- Reconnect with the partner you have now, not the memory of who they were
- Replace the same recurring conflict with decisions you both can agree on
- Build real skills, techniques, and homework you can practice between sessions
- Move from drudgery toward a relationship that feels lighter again
The decision to make things better can be the beginning of the healing itself.
The Three Clear Phases of My Approach to Couples Therapy
-
01
Assessment
I begin with a formal, or informal, assessment. This tells us where we are and what needs immediate attention.
From here, we develop a plan.
-
02
Focused Work
We use what’s happening in the relationship now to build a plan for the future, working on specific skills to do things differently, better, than before.
This phase may take weeks or months.
-
03
Consolidation of Gains
We pause to see how things are.
Sometimes a second assessment shows the gains you’ve made since we first met.
You decide whether to pause or go deeper.
Why Trust Me as Your Partner in Healing
A Rare Combination of Business and Clinical Experience
I’ve got 40+ years as a clinical psychologist. I also have a background as a business consultant.
This means I see the legal, financial, and interpersonal pieces of your relationship all together.
Gottman-Trained, Always Learning
I am trained in Gottman Levels 1 and 2. I’m also a Fellow of the American Psychological Association.
I stay current on everything from neuroscience to the newest couple-therapy methods.
Honest About the Work, Hopeful About the Outcome
I won’t promise magic or instant change, but people do feel better after working with me.
My bet is: the spark is still there. Let’s rekindle it.
Frequently Asked Questions
I usually begin the first session getting to know you both and hearing the overview. Then I meet with each of you to hear your side. Then we come back together to focus on what needs attention most.
Both. After our first conversation as a couple, I meet with each partner individually, then we reconvene to focus on priorities and build a plan you can both agree on.
That’s often where the best work begins. A fresh assessment shows us where things actually stand, and we build from your present reality rather than from old assumptions.
Both work. I see couples in person at my White Plains office and online over a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, so we can be flexible around your schedules.
I make no guarantees, and anything worthwhile requires work. But people do feel better after working with me, and the decision to begin is often the start of the healing itself.
